This is an archival PRINT of an original painting by artist Belinda Joynes. The original painting was based on the Norse goddess Freya: "Freya who was the Goddess of love, beauty, fertility, war, wealth, divination and magic. This Goddess belongs to group of Gods and Goddesses known as the Vanir who were associated with nature, wild places and animals, and unseen realms. Freya also has a cloak of falcon feathers, which she willingly loans out to the other gods, when they need to fly to one of the nine worlds of Norse mythology. Her name means "The Lady" (it is also often spelt Freyja) and she is said to be the leader of the Valkyries."
